The country's defense department reported that the Ufa diesel-electric submarine was performing elements of a course task at sea. The crews of warships and rescue ships of the Baltic Fleet helped the submarine complete the job.
“As part of the development of the planned course task, the crew of the submarine in the combat training area of the Baltic Fleet performed a deep-sea dive in one of the areas of the Baltic Sea. As part of the shipboard exercise, the boat crew practiced tasks at various depths, with a maximum diving depth of up to 190 meters. During the dive, the crew checked the operation of all systems and mechanisms of the submarine and worked out the algorithm of actions when controlling the ship at depths and with various methods of ascent to the surface. After completing the underwater part of the exercise, the boat crew surfaced and continued to carry out activities following the combat training plan for the fleet forces. The submarine exercise was provided by small anti-submarine ships, rescue, and the Baltic Naval Base tugboats," the Western Military District press service said.
