The minimum wage in Russia will be indexed from January 1, 2024. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced this at a strategic session held today to improve the welfare of citizens.
Mikhail Mishustin noted that the government continues to support the incomes of Russian citizens. He recalled that in a particular order, on behalf of the President of Russia, the living wage was raised twice in the country - from June 1, 2022, and from the beginning of January 2023. As a result, it grew by more than 13.5%, which allowed 15 million Russians to keep their incomes.
“We are consistently increasing the minimum wage at a rate higher than inflation. Since the beginning of this year, it has grown and amounts to 16,242 rubles. Moreover, from January 1 next year, on behalf of the head of state, we will index it again, but by 18.5%, which will increase the salaries of 4.8 million of our citizens,” said Mikhail Mishustin.
In Bashkiria, from January 1, 2023, for workers in the non-budgetary sphere of the region, the minimum wage, taking into account the regional coefficient, amounted to 19.743 thousand rubles, for "state employees" - 18.678 thousand rubles, the Bashinform News Agency reported earlier.
