Tatyana Aksyutina

Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkiria Andrey Nazarov presented a regional strategy for the development of industrial tourism at the finals of the II All-Russian Industrial Tourism Accelerator, organized by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the press service of the government reports.

In total, 39 regions - 258 enterprises participated in the industrial tourism accelerator. 16 regions received permission to defend their strategies. The team of Bashkiria was represented by Andrey Nazarov, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry, Energy and Innovation Alexander Sheldyaev, head of the Blagoveshchensk region Oleg Golov.

“Bashkortostan has a rich centuries-old history. Its integral part is the architecture and heritage of large industrial enterprises in the region. We have something to show to the residents and guests of the republic. Our country's first mining plants appeared in the first half of the 18th century. The Voskresensky copper smelter, the largest in the Urals, is today one of the objects of industrial tourism, which we also actively use in our tourism program,” Andrey Nazarov said.

For such a category of travelers as business missions and business tourists, industrial tourism is an opportunity to find new partners, build new production chains, and adopt the best industry experience.

“Last year, we were among the 20 regions selected in the industrial tourism accelerator. This was the first step towards forming a systematic approach to developing such a tourist destination. We thank the Agency for Strategic Initiatives for the opportunity. Today, 8 enterprises of the republic - participants of the accelerator are already conducting industrial excursions, and tour operators include industrial enterprises in the line of tourist offers. And this applies to both existing industries and industrial heritage sites. In total, 20 enterprises organize excursions on their own. We plan to double the number of enterprises ready to receive tourist groups by 2025,” the Prime Minister of Bashkiria emphasized.

Andrey Nazarov added that the region has a high need for industrial personnel - more than 50,000 vacancies. And he noted that one of the critical tasks of industrial tourism is to get an additional tool for career guidance and increase the region’s attractiveness. In Bashkiria, a Strategy for the Development of Industrial Tourism has been developed, becoming the basis for further work. Bashinform News Agency previously spoke about the directions for industrial tourism development in the republic.
