The Bashkir State Puppet Theater overhaul repairs continue in Ufa. In addition, Skazka Square is being improved, where miniature copies of UNESCO sites in Russia and the surrounding area will appear.
The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, got acquainted with the progress of the overhaul repairs on April 8, the Bashinform News Agency reports. Recall that the reconstruction of the building began in the spring of 2021. The builders promise to hand over the object in November 2023. According to them, the renovation and construction of the new building are proceeding under the deadlines.
The Head of the republic noted that during the New Year holidays of 2024, the first performances for small spectators could occur here.
It is planned to install a unique three-level platform in the large hall of the puppet theater. In future productions, the puppets can fly at different heights. This is a novelty for the audience and the entire theater troupe. In addition to the reconstruction of the large hall, there will be an additional small hall for 150 seats. There will be a puppet museum, interactive studios, new dressing rooms and workshops, a garage for trucks and cars, and storage rooms. They will increase in the area so that it is comfortable to work.
“On the theater’s roof, in the upper right corner, we want to put a globe with the image of continents and oceans. In the dark, the ball will spin and glow. When we did the full project, we felt there was not enough beauty for the children. Amendments were made, and the company responded to our proposals - they added decorations for the facade. This area has not been repaired for 50 years, and the building is obsolete. The original appearance of the theater will be preserved. We also create a park of miniatures of the largest Russian objects in the UNESCO register in a certain scale, in the correct proportions, so that the child, for example, understands what St. Basil's Cathedral or St. Isaac's Cathedral looks like. It will be an open-air museum,” said Radiy Khabirov.
