The state inspectors of the Shulgan-Tash reserve installed camera traps in the feeding places for wild boars. One of them was hit by a lone wolf. These animals in the reserve’s forests are considered one of the main predators.
“These are very hardy, smart animals. They usually lead a sedentary lifestyle. In one wolf pack, there can be a family group of three to 40 individuals. The smartest, strongest, hardiest male wolf becomes the leader and forms a pair with a girlfriend superior to other females. Other wolves unite around them. And so the flock appears. There is a young wolf in the pack - the future successor. He is usually the leading couple's son or the leader's brother. This group conquers new territories, hunting together, playing, and howling. The leader treats his people very friendly but shows aggression towards strangers,” the reserve told Bashinform News Agency.
The wolf pack breaks up in the summer, and the territory is divided into sections. There are lone wolves. These are either old individuals or animals expelled from the pack.
