434 million rubles were allocated for palliative care development in Bashkiria

434 million rubles have been allocated for the development of palliative care over the past three years in Bashkiria, Prime Minister Andrey Nazarov said. These funds are used to purchase equipment and consumables for the service and construct a hospice, which will be commissioned in the summer.

More than 142 million rubles were allocated from the federal and regional budgets in 2022. Thanks to these funds, palliative care departments, and mobile patronage teams received 108 pieces of equipment.

According to the government of Bashkiria, 863 children with central nervous system diseases, congenital malformations, hereditary and chromosomal ailments, cancer patients, etc., need it.

“Last year, 581 children received palliative care in a hospital, and 142 children have received palliative care since the beginning of 2023. Based on the future hospice, departments of palliative care for adults with 40 beds and 20 for children will be opened,” the government noted.

Bashinform News Agency reported that the Republican hospice would be in southern Ufa. The total area of its buildings will be about 13 thousand square meters.
