Bashkiria will receive federal subsidy for school tourism program

The decision to allocate 1 billion rubles for the program of free school trips within the framework of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry" was announced by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“We will expand the tourism program, thanks to which schoolchildren can make short sightseeing trips around their native land or neighboring regions to better get to know their history, traditions, and cultural characteristics. Moreover, the children and their parents can choose the directions and places they would like to visit. Today we will allocate 1 billion rubles for the implementation of this measure. The funds will be used to compensate the costs of 29 Russian regions that have specially developed such trips for children,” the Prime Minister noted.

29 subjects, including Bashkiria, will receive a subsidy for financing tourist trips. 200 thousand schoolchildren will be able to go on trips. Funding for the program in 2023 will double compared to 2022. The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia plans to bring the funds to the regions within a month, said Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov.

Short trips are assumed for the comfort of children when moving. Children and parents can choose a route, excursions, and hotels themselves, after which they will apply for participation in the program. Its features are set by the regions independently.

“The School Tourism project, from the first days, receives only positive feedback from the children, their parents, and teachers. Even though two days are completely “reloaded”, they develop, educate, and accustom teenagers to independence. They are discovering our republic in a new way. In 2022, 11,106 schoolchildren traveled around the region on a social certificate. This year the program's scope has been increased by more than 3 times, and new interesting routes and excursions will appear. We will do everything so that only the best impressions remain from each trip,” the Republican Minister of Entrepreneurship and Tourism Rustem Afzalov commented to Bashinform News Agency.
