Turkey earthquake death toll tops 9,000

The list of victims of the largest earthquakes in Turkey, which occurred on February 6-7, exceeded 9 thousand people.

“At the moment, the death toll is 9,057, and the wounded are 52,979”, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in an address in Hatay province.

The Turkish leader added that the republic receives support and assistance to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake. More than 60 countries worldwide have declared their readiness to assist.

As Bashinform News Agency reported, nationwide mourning has been declared in the country until February 12. In Ufa, Evren bistro collects humanitarian aid for earthquake victims in Turkey.
