Russian woman receives "Mrs. Universe" title

A 34-year-old resident of Udmurtia, Elena Maksimova, received the main title of the international beauty contest for married women "Mrs. Universe 2022", Izvestia reports.

The competition was held from January 30 to February 5 in Sofia.

120 women from different countries, including China, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Germany, India, Belarus, Spain, the USA, and others, reached the competition’s final.

For the first time in the history of this international competition, which has been held since 2007, first place was won by a representative of Russia.

Elena Maksimova was born in Udmurtia. Currently, she leads a network of language centers in Izhevsk, has two children, loves to travel, and has already visited 34 countries.

Elena Maksimova became "Second Vice-Mrs. Russia" in 2021. This allowed her to represent Russia on the international stage of the competition.

“The competition at the contest was very tough - a record number of participants, and all of them deserved to win. It is a great honor to represent the country in such a serious competition, and I am happy to return with a victory. It is especially pleased to be the first participant who brought victory to Russia,” TASS quotes Elena Maksimova.
