Bashkiria will receive 550 million rubles for additional tourism development

Bashkiria will additionally allocate more than 550 million rubles for tourism development. The commission of the Federal Assembly approved this decision for the redistribution of budgetary appropriations, the deputy of the State Duma from Bashkiria, deputy chairman of the committee on budget and taxes, and member of the commission Natalya Orlova told the Bashinform News Agency.

“The funds will be used to support public initiatives in the field of tourism, the development of tourism infrastructure, the construction of campsites and car campsites, as well as the organization and holding of major events, putting the central city streets in order,” Natalya Orlova explained.

In particular, budgetary funding is provided for the Ufa International Marathon and additional improvement of the center of Ufa.

As Bashinform News Agency previously reported, in the national tourism rating for 2022, Bashkiria took 11th place. The compilers of the rating assessed safety took into account the level of development of the tourism industry, hotel infrastructure, and sanatorium destinations, as well as the region’s popularity.

“Last year, 1.7 million tourists visited the republic from January to November. This year we expect 2 million. We are developing social, event, and ethno-tourism. We have launched school and industrial tourism programs, and our older generation is actively traveling around the republic. We are developing roadside services. We need to raise the level of our hotels and strengthen advertising,” the Head of Bashkiria outlined the region's tasks in the field of tourism.

In his opinion, the republic can hit the Top five most popular destinations.

“We have a unique nature, a rich cultural and historical heritage, and a developed network of sanatoriums and ski centers. The main thing is systemic work. Tourism is a significant part of our economy, so we will continue to thoughtfully, vigorously, and consistently deal with this topic,” said Radiy Khabirov.
