Radiy Khabirov called on departments to make competent decisions in preparation for 450th anniversary of Ufa

The Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, held a working meeting on preparations for the 450th anniversary of Ufa, which will be celebrated in 2024. The participants discussed the implementation of anniversary projects and the construction of large social and infrastructure facilities in the city.

The Wrestling Palace is being built in the capital of Bashkiria. The works are progressing according to the approved schedule. Next to the future large-scale sports facility, they plan to improve the surrounding area and repair roads, the Bashinform News Agency reported. Radiy Khabirov instructed to discuss these options with experts from the Institute for Urban Development of Bashkortostan.

“It is imperative to consider the professional opinion and maintain a dialogue with residents on the issues that concern them the most,” the Head of the Republic said.

In mid-February, construction and installation work will start at the site of the future Fencing Center. Following the schedule, the construction of the rowing slalom complex is underway.

In addition to sports facilities, the meeting participants discussed the construction of cultural facilities.

Two years after the reconstruction, the renovated Puppet Theater will open. A children's playground and the Alley of Miniatures will appear on the square next to it — large-scale models of Russia's most iconic architectural structures. The Head of Bashkiria instructed to think over the list of objects for this exposition.

In the transport infrastructure, the most ambitious projects are the South Gate and East Exit.

As part of the improvement of the "South Gate" of Ufa in 2024, Pugacheva Street and the old automobile bridge across the Belaya River will be reconstructed.

The Head of Bashkortostan instructed Deputy Prime Minister Alan Marzaev, together with the administration of Ufa, to discuss the issues of commissioning the East Exit facilities and organizing traffic in its sections.

“It is important to effectively integrate traffic flows into the street and road network so that residents and guests of Ufa can comfortably move around the city,” Radiy Khabirov explained.

Also, preparations have begun to reconstruct October Revolution Street in Ufa's historical center. Engineering networks will be rebuilt here, and a bicycle-pedestrian zone will be created with areas for recreation and work of shopping and entertainment establishments. Traffic on the street will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

Radiy Khabirov instructed to prepare for discussion the concept of anniversary events in honor of the 450th anniversary of Ufa. The head of Bashkiria stressed that there is not very much time before the anniversary of the capital.
