Russian government will index social benefits from February 1

In Russia, from February 1, the amount of social payments, benefits, and compensations to specific categories of citizens will be indexed. The corresponding decree of the government of the Russian Federation is posted on the official Internet portal of legal information.

“To establish from February 1, 2023, an indexation coefficient of 1.119 for payments, benefits, and compensations,” the document says.

So, from February 1, the size of social payments to disabled people, veterans, Heroes of the USSR, the Russian Federation, full cavaliers of the Order of Glory, Heroes of Socialist Labor, Heroes of Labor of the Russian Federation, and full cavaliers of the Order of Labor Glory, citizens exposed to radiation due to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster, and also due to the accident in 1957 at the Mayak production association and due to the discharge of radioactive waste into the Techa River and to citizens exposed to radiation due to nuclear tests at the Semipalatinsk test site.

The Bashinform News Agency reported that branches of the Social Fund of Russia would begin to provide special payments to medical workers in February. It will begin after health organizations form registers of specialists eligible for such social support.
