Several new laws came into force in Russia in February - State Duma

New laws come into force in Russia in February. This is stated on the website of the State Duma.

From February 1, maternity capital will be indexed by 11.9%, amounting to 587 thousand rubles for the first child and 775.6 thousand rubles for the second. Maternity capital funds can be spent on education, improving housing conditions (including mortgages), forming a funded part of the mother’s pension, social adaptation, and integrating disabled children into society. On a monthly payment for children under three years old, the Bashinform News Agency reported earlier.

From February 1, the size the number of social payments will increase. Also, from February 1, retaliatory measures to introduce a ceiling on prices for Russian energy resources begin to operate. There will be penalties for violating the law on the Internet. Regulations on the activities of state security bodies, control in the field of hunting (come into force on February 3), and housing (come into force on February 4) will come into force. Another law will affect the children of special military operation participants entering universities (it enters into force on February 20).
