Preferential mortgage conditions for IT specialists are softened in Russia

The preferential mortgage program terms for information technology specialists have been softened in Russia. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the corresponding decree.

As follows from the official document, preferential loans will become available to employees of all accredited IT companies, which will significantly increase the number of employees who can use the service. The age limit for mortgage recipients has also been raised - now it will be from 18 to 50 years inclusive.

The requirements for the required minimum wage for specialists have also been clarified - in cities with a population of over a million, they have been reduced from 150,000 to 120,000 rubles a month before the deduction of personal income tax (except Moscow), in other municipalities - from 100 to 70,000 rubles.

“The minimum wage can be calculated not only for the main place of work but also in conjunction with part-time work. To avoid losing a favorable rate after receiving a mortgage, a specialist must be employed in an accredited company for at least 5 years, not the entire loan repayment period. If the employee quits earlier, the preferential rate will be valid for him for another six months,” the government said in a statement.

Earlier, Bashinform News Agency wrote that in Bashkiria, IT specialists would be able to receive a mortgage at 4% per annum.
