Deputy Minister of Health of Bashkiria Elena Galimulina said that no cases of the new strain of COVID-19 "Kraken" were registered in the republic.
“We have not yet isolated this virus from residents with COVID-19. However, we continue to diagnose Omicron, as well as acute respiratory viral infections,” said Elena Galimulina.
As the expert recalled, "Kraken" is one of the varieties of Omicron, which has a slightly higher distribution level.
“It is transmitted faster - if 7 out of 10 residents can get sick with Omicron, then in this case, 9 people will become infected,” Elena Galimulina explained.
Earlier, Bashinform News Agency wrote that COVID-19 in Bashkiria decreased by 42%. The spreading coefficient of COVID-19 in the republic is currently 0.8, and in Russia, as a whole, it is 1.0.
