Rospotrebnadzor: coronavirus strain Kraken is not recorded in Bashkiria
According to the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor of Bashkiria, at the moment, there is no coronavirus strain Kraken recorded in the republic.
“Currently, the coronavirus strain Kraken is not recorded in the republic. Samples are regularly sent for sequencing,” the ministry said.
Yesterday it became known that the first case of infection with a new strain of coronavirus infection was detected in Russia. A sub-variant of the Omicron - XBB.1.5 Kraken was discovered in the Penza region.
Earlier, Bashinform News Agency wrote that the danger of the Kraken is that this coronavirus variant does not have an increased lethality and is not more difficult to tolerate than others. Still, it is more contagious and spreads rapidly.
