Today, Ufa International Airport will be the first in the Volga Federal District to serve its four millionth passenger. The Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, announced this. According to him, Bashkortostan reached this indicator for the second time in history and ten days earlier than last year.

“There is still time until the end of the year, so in 2022 we are waiting for an absolute record in the number of passengers served,” Radiy Khabirov posted on his VKontakte page.

He said that the republic continues to actively work on opening domestic and international flights. This year planes from Ufa started flying to Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Grozny, Perm, Omsk, Astrakhan, and Naryan-Mar. After the visit of our delegation to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as a result of the agreements, Astana, Aktau, Almaty, and Namangan were added. Negotiations are underway to launch flights to Samarkand, Minsk, and Tel Aviv.

Despite the difficulties in the economy and the closure of the usual international destinations, people continue to fly, the head of the region noted. The most popular destinations are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Surgut, and Novosibirsk.
