Influenza incidence is 61% higher than epidemiological threshold in Ufa

The epidemiological situation in Ufa is alarming. Galina Permina, deputy head of the Rospotrebnadzor department of Bashkiria, announced this at an operational meeting in the administration of Ufa today, December 6.

The coronavirus infection cases are growing, including in the republic’s capital.

“64 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in Ufa last day with a cumulative total. It should be noted that there is a slight increase. Compared to the previous week, the growth was 29%,” said Galina Permina.

She also noted that the pace of vaccination leaves much to be desired.

“We need to become more active in vaccination against COVID-19, especially since we are before the season of the epidemiological rise, including for coronavirus infection.

Over the past week, 10,895 respiratory viral infections have been registered in Ufa, including 35.7% of children under 14 years of age. Compared to last week, the incidence increased by 18.2% and is above the epidemiological threshold by 61%,” said Galina Permina.

According to the plan, 704,180 people should be vaccinated against influenza, while only 555,890 have been vaccinated. All the supplied vaccine has been used.
