Industrial production index amounted to 102.8% in Bashkiria

Tatyana Aksyutina

The industrial production index for the ten months of 2022 amounted to 102.8% in Bashkiria. This is higher than the average for Russia and the Volga Federal District, said the regional government chairman, Andrey Nazarov.

“Today, we continue to develop and strengthen our region’s industry. The industrial production index is growing due to systematic work. According to the results of 10 months, it amounted to 102.8%, exceeding the average for Russia and the Volga Federal District,” Andrey Nazarov posted on his Telegram channel.

According to the Prime Minister, the production of electrical equipment in the republic has grown by 28.6%, furniture production by 24.5%, and mining by 20.3%.

“Our republic is a powerful industrial region of Russia. We are one of the main oil-producing regions, the center of the chemical industry and mechanical engineering. For the first time in the republic, we celebrated the Industrial Worker of Bashkortostan Day,” Andrey Nazarov said.

He also recalled the rich industrial heritage of the region. Since the 18th century, the development of natural resources began in Bashkortostan. In 1745, the very first Voskresensky copper-smelting metallurgical plant in the Southern Urals was put into operation. In 1762, one of the oldest enterprises in the country, the Beloretsk Iron and Steel Works, was founded.

In the 19th century, the industries of leather, cloth, brick, soap, lard, candle, glue, wax, oil, and distillery began to develop actively.

The 20th century brought Bashkir oil to the region and the country. During the harsh years of the war, Bashkortostan rapidly turned into an industrial republic. About 200 enterprises were evacuated to the area, most of which remained here and became part of the republic.

“Dear industrial workers of Bashkortostan, I congratulate you on your professional holiday! You are performing strategically important tasks for the development of Russia, and ensuring national security and stability at industrial enterprises largely depends on your reliable and uninterrupted work. Health, well-being, and professional achievements!” the Prime Minister wished.
