Russian sites will provide special security certificates

A bill has been submitted to the State Duma aimed at creating an information system for a national certification center, which should provide Russian websites with security certificates.

As noted in the document, the changes are necessary "in connection with the early revocation of security certificates from the sites of the Russian segment of the Internet, which were issued by foreign organizations."

New security certificates will be issued using domestic cryptographic algorithms.

“The implementation of the decisions provided by the bill will ensure recognition and support for the use of security certificates issued through the information system of the national certification center in operating systems, information systems, websites, and browsers,” the document says.

In addition, the bill establishes the need to use the portal “Gosuslugi” for the delivery of electronic copies of notifications, legally significant messages, and documents sent by government agencies and public organizations.

The bill also introduces a rule on sending additional electronic copies of official letters to recipients.

The bill is also aimed at ensuring the possibility of using the e-government infrastructure for carrying out activities, including those not related to public services.
