Radiy Khabirov spoke about food security ensured in Bashkiria

The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, told about the development of republican agriculture in an interview with the federal television channel OTR. In recent years, the republic has ensured its food security and actively exports agricultural products. This was achieved thanks to the modernization of the industry.

“We realized that if we do not modernize agriculture, we will not solve the tasks set. Over 3 years, equipment was purchased for 42 billion rubles. Now our task is to harvest the ripened crop as quickly as possible, literally in 2 weeks. Spring fieldwork should be carried out during the period when the snow has melted and the soil is still wet. It is impossible to do this without a large number of tractors and combines, so we have chosen the option of modernization,” Radiy Khabirov said.

According to the Head of the Republic, this approach yields results: over the past 4 years, the republic has twice received a good grain harvest - more than 4 million tons.

 “This year we have harvested 5 million tons of grain - this is a record harvest since 1986. We solved the problems with grain dryers and crop storage. We will sell the harvested crop at good prices,” said Radiy Khabirov.
