New rules for maintaining personalized records in the field of compulsory medical insurance (CMI) were approved by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation on November 5, 2022. It will not be necessary to present a medical insurance policy when visiting a medical institution from December 1. This is due to the transition to the digital format of the policy as the information about all insured citizens will be stored in a single state register. To receive medical care, it will be enough to present a passport or other identity document.
Now the compliance of the data of citizens with policies is being checked. Diana Farrakhova, a member of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and director of the Ufa branch of one of the insurance companies recommends updating your data in the medical insurance organization by December 1 to be guaranteed to be included in the unified register of insured persons, and as a result, to avoid denials of free medical care under the CMI programs.
Those who do not remember which company they are insured with should pay attention to the fact that on the reverse side of the CMI policy there is a company seal, where the name of the organization is written. When contacting an insurance company, you must have a passport, SNILS, and CMI policy, if available.
