Radiy Khabirov: “BashSU and USATU merger creates big player among Russian universities”
There are only a few days left before the merging procedure completion for Bashkir State University (BashSU) and Ufa State Aviation Technical University (USATU), Head of the Republic Radiy Khabirov said during a direct line.
“We united universities not to destroy them, but to strengthen them. For the first time in the history of the republic, 200 million rubles were allocated for internships and improving the living conditions of young teachers. We are strengthening the funding of the united university, making a big player on the map of Russian universities. Without merging the universities, it would be impossible to finance the construction of a student campus with an area of 156,000 square meters.
The transition period will last 2-3 years, and it may not be easy. However, I decided that we will not cut anyone, but we will not also keep idle people. Then the students will understand everything and will be proud that they study at such a great university.”
