Kyrgyz specialists will be trained in the UNESCO Geopark "Yangan-Tau". The corresponding agreement was signed during the 3GEO International Forum in the city of Osh in Kyrgyzstan, the Yangan-Tau Directorate reported. 3GEO - geo-heritage, geo-tourism, and geo-cooperation. The forum discussed the potential of geological heritage for sustainable tourism, education, science, and environmental development of the local population, as well as the integration of partners in 3GEO areas.

“As a result of the forum, several agreements were signed: in particular, agreements were reached with the Tien Shan Geological Society and the National Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic on sending specialists from Kyrgyzstan for internships in Bashkortostan,” said the director of the Yangan-Tau Geopark, an employee of the ESG- models of new eco-territories of Bashkir State University Airat Galiev.

Since 2018, the Yangan-Tau Geopark has been actively involved in the development of Geoparks in Central Asia, he noted.

“The forum became an occasion to improve understanding of the concept of UNESCO Geoparks and search for ways to implement the concept of “Geopark” in the legislation of the countries of Central Asia. By the way, Bashkortostan is a pioneer in the development and launch of the law on Geoparks - until that time, there was no such practice in Russia and the post-Soviet space,” said Elina Gataullina, executive director of the Committee RB for UNESCO.
