No cases of new COVID-19 strains have been registered in Bashkiria. This was reported by the regional Rospotrebnadzor press service.
“Omikron BA4/BA5 variants have been registered in Bashkortostan over the past month, accounting for 98% of all samples studied, and Omicron VA2.75 (Centaur) — 2%,” the report says. “According to the results of in-depth studies of the coronavirus variants BQ.1 and BQ 1.1 (“Cerberus”), it has not been registered on the territory of the republic.”
The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova announced the registration in Russia of a new version of the coronavirus - BQ.1 and BQ 1.1 ("Cerberus").
It is a variety of the Omicron strain, which most Russians were infected with.
