Ufa hosts Association of Legislative Authorities of Volga Federal District Regions meeting

The Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov noted in his speech at the 65th meeting of the Association of Legislative Authorities of the Regions of the Volga Federal District taking place in Ufa about the necessity to unite our efforts on protecting the Fatherland, to respond promptly to new challenges, make decisions on restructuring the economy and industry of our regions to meet new challenges, to ensure public and social stability, support the population, primarily mobilized people and their families.

“In this regard, an important task is to increase the efficiency of all branches and levels of government, interaction and coordination in the implementation of targets to meet the needs that arise during the conduct of a special military operation. This is the direction of the recent Decree of the President. Topics related to the digitalization of the activities of legislative bodies, the reform of state and municipal control, and the development of youth parliamentarism have been submitted for today's meeting,” Radiy Khabirov stressed.

According to him, in the current situation, the sphere of IT technologies turned out to be the most vulnerable, since here we are most dependent on imports.

“The country, more than ever, needs its solutions in the production of computer equipment, the development of domestic software. Now it is important to support our Russian IT companies, create comfortable conditions for their work, and prevent the outflow of personnel from the industry.

There is an acute problem of replacing Western digital tools with domestic software products, which are now used by public authorities, including regional parliaments. This is not only a question of the effectiveness of our work with you but also in many respects information security, Russia's digital sovereignty,” said the Head of the Region.

The republic attaches great importance to digitalization issues. Over the past three years, more than 3,000 social institutions have been provided with high-speed Internet. A state data processing center and information transmission networks have been created. Digital solutions cover the areas of land and property relations, agriculture, construction, transport complex, healthcare and education, and the budget process. Bashkortostan was one of the first to create the Republic Management Center.

“Another important topic to be discussed today is the state and prospects for the development of youth parliamentarism. In terms of the age structure of the population, we are the youngest republic in the Volga Federal District. Besides, youth policy is one of our leading priorities in our work.

In Bashkortostan, the Youth Public Chamber actively generates draft republican and, in some cases, federal laws. It initiates important projects, including in the field of patriotic education and pre-conscription training of youth. We have many young deputies in the State Assembly, and city and district councils. We are actively using their energy, potential, and fresh perspective,” said Radiy Khabirov.
