Tourists flow has tripled in Yangan-Tau Geopark in five years since its foundation

Geopark "Yangan-Tau" celebrates five years since its foundation. It is the first Geopark in Russia and throughout the post-Soviet space included in the UNESCO World Network of Global Geoparks. In total, 177 objects in 46 countries have this status in the world.

"The area of ​​the Yangan-Tau Geopark is 1774 square km. It is located in the Salavatsky region. It contains 58 sights, including the Idrisovskaya and Laklinskaya caves, the Kurgazak spring, Mount Yangantau, the Mechetlinsky section, the Salavat Yulaev Museum, and many others. Geological objects of regional, federal and international significance, archeological monuments, and rich historical and cultural heritage - all this makes our Geopark a point of attraction for tourists, including those from abroad. Only last year it was visited by 110 thousand people, and since its foundation, the number of tourists has tripled,” the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov posted on his social media.

He noted that the partners of the Geopark were 16 organizations, including large scientific and educational institutions. Entrepreneurs are actively involved in the work. Yangan-Tau has one of the visitor centers created in the republic. Besides, throughout the Geopark, information and navigation stands are installed.
