Bashkiria Residents gave over 2.5 million rubles to scammers per day

Over the past 24 hours, 4 criminal cases have been initiated in Bashkiria on facts of fraud. Residents of the republic gave the attackers a total of more than 2.5 million rubles. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Bashkortostan.

A 44-year-old resident of Oktyabrsky received a call from an unknown number from a false bank employee who said that they were trying to hack into her personal account, so she needed to take a loan and transfer all the money to the accounts indicated by him. The woman took out a loan for 1.8 million rubles and was left with nothing.

Another case occurred with a 45-year-old woman. She said that she received a call allegedly from a representative of a large investment company and offered to transfer money to the “company” in order to receive passive income from them. The woman became interested in the offer, immediately took out a loan for 510 thousand rubles, and sent the money to the destination. As a result, she was left without money and income.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Bashkortostan urges citizens not to lose vigilance, not to disclose their personal data to strangers, and not to transfer money to strangers.
