Bashkiria hit top 10 Russia regions in terms coronavirus tests number

Regarding the absolute number of tests conducted for a new coronavirus infection, Bashkiria hit the top 10 subjects in Russia, the press service of Rospotrebnadzor reported.

The republic ranks eighth in the ranking - 6.992 million tests for COVID-19 as of September 21, 2022.

In the first place in the ranking with the absolute number of tests for a new coronavirus infection is Moscow with 47.183 million tests. The Top 10 also includes St. Petersburg, the Moscow and Sverdlovsk regions, the Krasnodar Territory, the Samarsky and Rostovsky regions, Bashkiria, and the Nizhegorodsky and Chelyabinsk regions.

“In the Russian Federation, the possibility of significant coverage of the population with testing for a new coronavirus infection has been provided,” the department stressed. "To date, several domestic test systems have been registered in Russia that can be used for research on coronavirus infection. Test systems registered and used in the country to detect a new coronavirus have the highest possible sensitivity and detect single copies of the virus in the reaction. The data were confirmed using a live virus in laboratory tests, including abroad, and in a study on clinical material.”

Meanwhile, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Bashkiria, as of September 22, about 865.5 thousand people were revaccinated in the region.
