Russian Foreign Ministry announced resumption of electronic passports issuance for 10 years

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation announced the resumption of acceptance of applications for the issuance of passports with an electronic storage medium valid for 10 years.

According to the agency, the Russian Foreign Ministry, including all diplomatic missions and consular offices of the country in foreign countries, resumed accepting applications for the issuance of passports valid for 10 years, containing an electronic storage medium since September 20.

“The technical difficulties that led to the temporary suspension of the issuance of such passports have been overcome. Additional measures have been taken to ensure stable work on the issuance of passports to Russians living abroad with an electronic storage medium”, the Russian Foreign Ministry informed.
