State national policy concept approved in Bashkiria

The Decree of the Head of Bashkortostan approved the republican concept of the state national policy. The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The decree notes that the state bodies of the republic should be guided by this concept when resolving issues of interethnic relations and ethnocultural development. For local governments, organizations and public associations, the document is advisory in nature.

The document gives an up-to-date description of interethnic relations in the region and also identifies the main challenges to the existing system of interethnic and ethno-confessional relations. Among them: are the erosion of common civic identity due to the penetration of radical ideas, the imposition of values alien to the peoples of Russia, the growth of migration from neighboring countries, and others.

The main directions of the state national policy are the formation of civil unity based on the values ​​of patriotism, historical memory, respect for national traditions and religious feelings of the peoples of the Republic of Bashkortostan; preservation and development of the material and spiritual culture of the peoples of Bashkiria; prevention of interethnic and interfaith conflicts; ensuring the rights of the inhabitants of the republic to study state and native languages; support for Bashkirs living outside the republic in learning the language, preserving and developing national culture and traditions, and other areas.
