As part of the implementation of the program "Bird Watching in Natural Parks of Bashkortostan" of the Directorate for Specially Protected Natural Territories, Elza Gabbasova, chairman of the Bashkir branch of the Russian Bird Conservation Union, and employees of the Asly-Kul nature park went to the park, where they counted 69 species of birds. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Ecology of Bashkiria.
The observers spotted a large flock of 24 great egrets (listed in the Red Books of the Russian Federation and Bashkortostan) flying over the Akhunov Pond and met a pair of gray geese (a rare nesting species in Bashkortostan) in the Berkazan-kamysh swamp. According to observations, the geese stayed in the swamp since spring and did not have a brood. Presumably, they will choose this place for nesting in the future.
