New points of tourist attraction will appear in Toratau Geopark of Bashkiria

At the offsite meeting of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Meleuzovsky district, its participants discussed today, among other things, the issues of the activities of the Toratau and Yangan-Tau Geoparks.

Saida Suvorova, director of the center for science, education, ecology, and tourism of the Toratau Geopark, said that in November of this year, the construction of a specially equipped iron staircase - an eco-trail 5.65 km long to the top of Shikhan - will be completed. A parking lot for 80 cars will also appear here, and new yurts are also planned to be installed.

The equipped eco-trail will allow to streamline the movement of tourists on the ascent and descent. For the convenience of guests, the trail will be equipped with seating areas and information stands.

The Head of Bashkortostan instructed the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism of the republic to finalize the project for the integrated development of tourism infrastructure near geoparks.

“This year we will open an eco-trail-ladder to Toratau for tourists,” summed up Radiy Khabirov. “Thus, step by step, every year we will open new facilities and create comfortable points of attraction for guests and residents of the republic.”

Three priority sites have been identified in the Yangan-Tau Geopark. These are the Mechetlino geological museum complex, the Caravanserai ethnographic complex and the Salauat Yere historical and cultural complex. 50 million rubles were allocated for design and survey work.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Bashkortostan was instructed to revise downward the quota for hunting wild animals.
