Bashkiria universities will unite in consortium to create startup studio

Today, at the site of the Ministry of Industry of Bashkiria, a meeting was held between representatives of the Innovation Promotion Center and universities of the region. The meeting was attended by employees of the Bashkir State University, Bashkir State Pedagogical University, Bashkir State Medical University, Ufa State Petroleum Technical University, and Ufa State Aviation Technical University. The preparation of an application to compete for the creation of pilot university start-up studios within the framework of the federal project "Platform of University Technological Entrepreneurship" was discussed at the meeting.

“Our priority task is to accelerate development and create all conditions for launching innovative projects of start-up entrepreneurs in the market,” Ruslan Shaimukhametov, director of the Innovation Promotion Center in Bashkortostan, summed up the meeting.

He also noted that there would be a lot of work ahead, in particular, the founding meeting of the business angels club would take place on August 2. During another meeting, a selection of projects and partners will be held, which can become members of the consortium and the future startup studio. A session with the winners of the first wave of the Student Startup federal contest is also planned. They were 25 students from the republican universities, each will receive a grant for 1 million rubles.

The project to create start-up studios is being implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs. Recall that this year it is planned to create 15 startup studios at Russian universities. The government of the Russian Federation will allocate 1.5 billion rubles for their development. Higher education institutions and consortiums, which may include individuals and legal entities, in particular technology entrepreneurs, and industrial partners, can take part in the competitive selection.

Applications will be accepted until August 22, 2022.
