Another expedition to Mustai Karim Peak starts from Ufa

In Ufa, at the monument to Mustai Karim, the team of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Bashkortostan got off on an expedition to Kabardino-Balkaria. According to tradition, before the flight, its participants laid flowers at the monument to the national poet of Bashkortostan Mustai Karim.

The expedition will leave Ufa for the Caucasus on July 18. During the ascent, its participants will continue work on marking the "Paths of Poets", and install information boards and signs for tourists.

In 2024, Ufa will celebrate its anniversary - 450 years since its foundation. In honor of this, the team of the Russian Geographical Society takes the flag of the city with them to the top.

The mountain tourist route, created by activists of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society RB and Kabardino-Balkarian climbers, leads from the Bashil campsite to the peaks of Kaisyn Kuliyev and Mustai Karim Peaks in the spur of the Main Caucasian Range, in the Chegem Gorge. This year the goal of the expedition is to mark the "Paths of Poets". In addition, on the route, the expedition participants will install signs with all the necessary information for tourists.

“The peak of the People's Poet of Bashkortostan was opened for his 100th birthday in the summer of 2018. The Mustai Karim name was given to it by a group of Bashkir and Kabardino-Balkarian climbers. This peak is already well known in the Caucasus, and all visiting tourists, if possible, come to this peak and the peak of his friend Kaisyn Kuliev. This is the sixth expedition for us. Each of them is special. This year it is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. Last year, we raised the flag of the 6th CIOFF World Folkloriada on Mustai Karim Peak. In 2020, the event was dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society,” Salavat Sagitov said.

The team should return to Ufa on July 22.
