Ufa hit top 3 green million-plus cities in Russia

Ufa took 3rd place among 15 million-plus cities in Russia in terms of the share of forests and parks. The study was conducted by the analytical company Marketing Logic based on geo-information data.

When compiling the rating, green spaces were taken into account, including parks, squares, national parks, forests, and gardens. In Ufa, this figure was 39%. More than in the capital of Bashkiria, green areas turned out to be in Perm (56%) and Krasnodar (46%).

This is not the first time that Ufa confirms its status as one of the greenest cities in Russia, the mayor's office noted. The plans for further improvement and landscaping of the city set the task of switching from planting annual flowers and plants to perennial ones, planting more shrubs and trees, creating new alleys, and expanding existing ones, the press service of the Ufa administration reported.

Also, the municipality is working on the issue of restoring the green frame of the historic center of the city. Places for planting trees will be determined along free corridors, taking into account engineering communications. It is also planned to continue comprehensive landscaping in areas where roads are being repaired.
