On the evening of July 13, the full moon came, and at the same time, the Moon was at its closest point to the Earth. Such a coincidence is called a supermoon because this is the moment when the planet's satellite can be seen at its maximum size. At a super full moon, the moon appears 14% larger and 30% brighter than when it is farthest from Earth.
In total, two supermoons occurred in 2022 - on June 14 and July 13.
