Russian company of high-tech prostheses opens production in Ufa

The Salyut Orto company held a presentation in Ufa on a knee module with a pneumatic control system for the transfer phase, which will be produced for residents of the region. In April, the necessary tests for the knee module were completed and a certificate of conformity was received.

The company began its development at Skolkovo as part of import substitution in 2018. The company has five branches (Moscow, Bashkiria, Irkutsk region, Buryatia, Kazakhstan) with their production facilities. For four years of work, the company has provided more than 300 residents of Russia with prostheses.

“Today, more than 80% of the prosthetic and orthopedic industry in Russia is provided with functional rehabilitation aids from Europe, the USA, and China. Therefore, the appearance of our developments to reduce dependence on imports is very important,” Azat Arslanov, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection commented.

According to the company's CEO Ivan Khudyakov, due to the crisis, the price of components has increased by about 50%, but even so, Russian knee modules are 30% cheaper than German and Icelandic ones, and 10% cheaper than Chinese ones.
