Russia removes restrictions on crossing land border since July 15

Tatyana Aksyutina

Russia lifts restrictions on crossing the land border since July 15, introduced earlier in connection with the spread of COVID-19. Interfax reports this with reference to the operational headquarters for preventing coronavirus infection in the country.

The headquarters recalled that in connection with the improvement of the epidemiological situation, it was decided to cancel restrictions on the entry of foreign citizens into Russia through air and sea checkpoints from June 14, but a number of restrictions on entry by land transport continued to operate. It is noted that the orders of the Government of the Russian Federation of March 16, 2020, No. 635-r and of March 27, 2020, No. 763-r will be declared invalid. The corresponding document will be published later.

The headquarters also decided to cancel the requirement to provide the results of PCR testing for COVID-19 for citizens of the Republic of Belarus upon arrival by air in Russia. Corresponding changes will be made to the resolution of the head of Rospotrebnadzor.

“For other citizens, the requirements to provide the results of PCR testing remain,” the message says.

On Friday, Rospotrebnadzor reported that all restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus spread ceased to operate in Russia. In particular, the mandatory wearing of masks, the ban on holding mass events, and restrictions on catering places are canceled.
