International Fundamental Sciences Year will open together with Shulgan-Tash complex in Bashkiria

On July 9-10, the Republic of Bashkortostan will host the official opening of the International Year of Fundamental Sciences for Sustainable Development and the unique Shulgan-Tash historical and cultural complex. A day earlier, on 8 July, the opening ceremony of the International Year of Fundamental Sciences for Sustainable Development will take place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

Official partners of the opening of the Year in the Russian Federation are the Federation Council, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO.

Presidents of the National Academies of friendly countries, directors of leading Russian museums, as well as well-known statesmen and public figures are expected to attend.

The event on the territory of the Republic of Bashkortostan will be combined with the opening of the historical and cultural complex "Shulgan-Tash" and the business program. Shulgan-Tash Cave is a unique archeological monument, which has preserved the largest collection of Stone Age rock art beyond Western Europe.

The key topic of the event will be the plenary session “Eurasian vector of international scientific and technological cooperation “Pivot to the East” with the main topic: “Intangible cultural heritage of Russia: research and economic context”.

Radiy Khabirov put forward the initiative to hold such an event in the Republic at a meeting with the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Alexander Sergeev confirmed his participation.

Recall that the years 2022-2031 in Russia have been declared the decade of science and technology, and the corresponding decree was signed by President Vladimir Putin. The Year of Fundamental Science events around the world will last until June 30, 2023.

Recall that a large-scale laser show with a symphony orchestra will take place at the opening of the Shulgan-Tash Museum.
