Veronika Zaripova became first resident of Bashkiria to climb Everest

The first woman from Bashkortostan climbed to the top of Everest. She became Veronika Zaripova, who reached the highest point of the planet at 4 am on May 17. She became the 12th woman from the Russian Federation to climb Everest.

Veronika was preparing for the expedition at the same time as the first resident of Bashkiria in the 2022 season, who climbed Everest, Sergey Belkin.

“Veronika is the first woman in history from Bashkiria to climb the highest point of our planet, inside there is a pleasant feeling of pride, both a countryman and a like-minded person,” Sergey says.

After the ascent, Zaripova thanked everyone who supported her.

"I love you all. Thank you for your support, my motivators,” she posted on her social media.

In total, since the beginning of 2021, Russian climbers have made 115 ascents to the highest point on the planet.
