“I am eager to discover Samarkand for tourists from Bashkortostan, to create an opportunity for our residents to travel - organize tours, and direct flights. We will strive for this,” the Head of the Republic posted on his social media. He accompanied his text with photographs of Samarkand sights.
Samarkand is one of the oldest existing cities and a major world-class tourist center. The architectural and historical monuments of Samarkand are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Among them, for example, the famous mausoleum of Gur-Emir - the tomb of Tamerlane, and many other attractions.
“We in Bashkortostan also have our own history connected with Tamerlane and his stay on the territory of the republic. There are amazing monuments of the 14th century in the Chishminsky district, and we have thoughts to discover these places for our residents too. The experience of Samarkand, its museum, and historical complexes will be very useful to us,” Radiy Khabirov shared.
Recall that these days the delegation of Bashkortostan is on a business visit to Uzbekistan. The parties are discussing further mutual cooperation.
