In 2021, Sterlitamak became the winner of the All-Russian competition for the best projects on creating a comfortable urban environment in small towns with the Salt Quay project.
The project provides for the transformation of the historical embankment of the Ashkadar River. The salt pier is the place from which the history of the city began. Also, the only city beach is on the waterfront which has long required renovation.
The project plans to fill the beach area with new infrastructure elements, including high-quality lighting, video surveillance, replacement of pavement coatings, and small architectural forms. White slopes, a pier, and a playground in natural materials in the form of a ship personify the pier. It is also planned to organize places for a memorial sculpture of salt and seat steps on a slope overlooking the river.
From 2019 to 2021, 22 projects became winners in the All-Russian competition from the Republic of Bashkortostan. These are all small towns of the republic and several villages.
All projects implemented in 2022, one way or another, solve the problems of urban pedestrian infrastructure and public spaces.
