Environmentally friendly products manufacturers will be supported financially in Bashkiria

A law in support of producers of environmentally friendly products came into force. The law  “On Amendments to Article 6 of the Law of the Republic of Bashkortostan “On the Development of Agriculture in the Republic of Bashkortostan” has been published and entered into force, the press service of the State Assembly RB reports.

“The list of main areas of activity that can be provided with state support for agricultural production at the expense of the republican budget has been expanded. In particular, this list will include the production of agricultural products and foodstuffs with improved characteristics,” the Chairman of the State Assembly Konstantin Tolkachev.

State support will be provided in the form of increasing the availability of credit resources, risk insurance, as well as financial assistance in carrying out activities to improve soil fertility.

As specified by the press service, "improved characteristics" involve the use in the production of only high-quality raw materials and "clean" technologies, a ban on the use of genetic engineering methods, and ionizing radiation.

Special requirements are also placed on packaging: it must be made from recyclable or biodegradable materials.

“The development of a “clean” production will help us form a regional brand based on the high quality and environmental friendliness of Bashkortostan products, monetize the fundamental advantages of our agricultural production,” Konstantin Tolkachev said.

The republican parliament expects that in the end, state support for environmentally friendly agricultural producers will have a positive effect on the health of the population.
