Days off on May holidays are announced in Bashkiria

The Ministry of Labor of Bashkiria reminded us about additional days off in connection with the May holidays. On May 1, Russia celebrates the holiday of Spring and Labor, and May 9 is Victory Day. They, according to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, are considered non-working days. Also in Bashkiria in 2022, May 2 is considered a public holiday - on this day, Muslim believers celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

“According to the decree of the Russian government, the day off from Saturday, January 1, was moved to Tuesday, May 3, from Sunday, January 2 to Tuesday, May 10,” the ministry reported. “In 2022, May 1 coincides with the weekly day of rest - Sunday. If a weekend and a non-working holiday coincide, the day off is transferred to the next working day after the holiday. Accordingly, the day off from Sunday, May 1 is transferred to Monday, May 2. The non-working holiday of Eid al-Fitr coincides with the day off on May 2. Therefore, the day off from Monday, May 2 is transferred to Wednesday, May 4”.

Thus, the inhabitants of Bashkiria, with a five-day working week, will have days off on April 30, May 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7, 8, 9, and 10. Working hours on Friday 29 April and 6 May are not reduced.
