Roskomnadzor started blocking Instagram

In Russia, the blocking of Instagram began on the evening of March 13. As reported on social media, the first to feel the shutdown were residents of the Far East. For many users, the feed has stopped updating, stories are not loaded and likes are not left. Blocking is performed by the subjects of the country and the time slot. In the European part of Russia, access will be blocked at midnight.

There were also reports among Ufa residents that social media was no longer working.

As previously reported, the Meta company on its social media Facebook and Instagram lifted the ban on calls for the murder of citizens of the Russian Federation. The obvious fact of human rights violations at the international level was noted by the UN, calling what happened a "very complex issue" that "raises some concern concerning international human rights law and humanitarian law."

The Russian Prosecutor General's Office asked the court to recognize Meta as an extremist organization and demanded that Roskomnadzor restrict access to Instagram.
