Ufa philologists create dictionary of new higher education terms

A promising online service is being created in Ufa - a dictionary of new terms in the field of higher education. As the head of the project, associate professor of the philological faculty of Bashkir State University Renata Lukmanova said, now the service creators are busy developing content in the Bashkir language and further developing content in Russian and English.

“Our dictionary collects higher education terms in three languages. Now the sphere of higher education is undergoing great changes, and many new terms are emerging. For example, “soft skills” are very popular; everyone uses this term. However, it is interpreted and translated differently. There are several translation options, and what to choose is already a problem of language ecology. We have collected all translations, examples of use, and applications. There is an option to refer to the source website. This will be needed by those writing a thesis paper, translators who are interested in the education system. The dictionary is designed for a wide range of users,” Renata Lukmanova said.

New terms of natural and exact sciences - chemistry, biology, mathematics will also be introduced into the dictionary.

The intellectual product is being created as part of the Priority 2030 program on a grant from the Head of Bashkortostan with the support of the Civil Society Assistance Fund RB.
