The Russian authorities plan to lift quarantine restrictions for people who have been in contact with those infected with COVID-19. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this at a meeting with "Business Russia" members.
He explained this by the peculiarities of the course of the disease associated with the omicron.
"The general conclusion is that even restrictions on so-called contact persons can be lifted in the near future," the president said.
In addition, the government does not plan to introduce new restrictions due to the situation with the coronavirus; a lockdown is out of the question, Putin added.
Over the past day, 155,768 new coronavirus cases have been detected in Russia in 85 regions.
