Russia's first female train driver Alena Mironova: My dream come true, I feel like Tereshkova

The first female locomotive driver in Russia, Alena Mironova, ran the modern Western Express commuter train on the Ufa-Priyutovo route the day before.

Alena is one of the first six women who mastered the "assistant driver" profession and then "electric train driver" at Russian Railways. A year ago, in January, she began working as an assistant driver, and she was also the first woman in this position.

We were told that five more women would complete their internships shortly, after which, like Alena, they would receive permission to work independently (including in Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, as well as in the Yaroslavl, Sverdlovsk and Omsk regions).

The Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov and the Head of the Kuibyshev Railway Vyacheslav Dmitriev came to the station to wish the 26-year-old electric train driver a good journey. At the solemn ceremony of launching the Western Express, Radiy Khabirov presented flowers to Alena Mironova.

"We congratulate our compatriot Alena Mironova. We wish her a good journey," the Head of the Republic said.

Travel time from Ufa to Priyutovo is 2 hours 58 minutes. Thanks to the express electric train, passengers will spend one hour less on the road. For comparison, a long-distance train "Chelyabinsk - Moscow" makes a trip on this section in 3 hours 39 minutes.

"Western Express" will depart from Priyutovo at 05.54 and arrive in Ufa at 08.52.

 On the way, stops are provided at the stations of Dema, Chishmy-1, Davlekanovo, Raevka, Shafranovo, Aksakovo. The cost of a ticket to Priyutovo will be 466 rubles; all federal and regional benefits apply, including for schoolchildren and students.

In the near future, the company plans to launch the Lastochka train on this route and continue to develop additional services for passengers on the route.
