Infectionist named most prominent symptom of omicron

An infectious disease specialist, member of the Immunization Practices Advisory Committee, and vaccinologist at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in North Carolina, Dr. Katherine Poehling, listed the main symptoms of the omicron strain on NBC News.

“Cough, nasal congestion, runny nose, and fatigue seem to be the characteristic symptoms of the omicron variant. However, unlike the delta strain, the loss of smell or taste seems to be uncommon. Even with mild breakthrough infections, sore throat remains the most common symptom,” RIA Novosti quotes the infectious disease specialist.

She noted that the researchers came to such conclusions based on the results of observations of patients.
